Representative Zwiener is a champion for public education because…

  • She passed House Bill 3, a historic public education funding bill which provided $4.5 billion to education reforms, $2 billion for teacher pay raises, and reduced school recapture by $3.6 billion.

  • Rep Zwiener’s work on this bill provided provides almost $5 billion in property tax relief.

Representative Zwiener fights for ALL Texans…

  • As a founding member of the LGBTQ Caucus, she led the effort against 23 anti-LGBTQ bills and with only one ultimately passing and becoming law. She is committed to ensuring this the last time that Texas passes legislation targeting the LGBTQIA+ community.

  • She helped provide an additional $68 million for women’s healthcare over the next two years in the Family Planning Program, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, and the Healthy Texas Women Program.

  • She co-authored SB 1264, which is a comprehensive bill to address surprise medical billing. This bill takes the responsibility off the patient and places the responsibility on the medical provider for billing issues.

Representative Zwiener fought to protect the Hill Country

  • As your State Rep she successfully passed legislation to allow the City of Buda to store fresh water in the Hays Trinity Aquifer in times of abundance so they can draw from it during peak usage times and drought.

  • She passed House Bill 4158, the Hill Country Night Sky Tourism bill, which gives small cities in Hays and Blanco Counties another important tool to invest in local tourism efforts.
